Tax Associate at Ikeyi Shittu & Co

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Associate to join our growing team at Ikeyi Shittu & Co. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering expert tax advice, managing compliance tasks, and supporting our clients in navigating complex tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive tax due diligence to clients across various industries
• Prepare tax returns and related filings for Companies Income Tax, Withholding Tax, Value Added Tax, Capital Gain Tax, and Personal Income Tax
• Conduct tax research and stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations
• Identify tax planning opportunities and provide actionable insights to clients
• Support clients in tax audits and tax investigations, and liaise with relevant tax authorities
• Register new companies with the tax station and obtain initial tax clearance certificates
• Prepare clients' monthly, quarterly, and yearly management reports and financial statements
• Develop strong client relationships and deliver excellent service
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance service offerings and drive firm growth

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of second-class upper division or HND with upper credit in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2–3 years of experience in tax consulting, accounting, or related roles
• Solid understanding of Nigerian tax laws, regulatory frameworks, and compliance
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong client service and communication abilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CITN
