We are looking for four (4) passionate and talented Sports Content Writer Interns to join our team. This is a hands-on internship where you will learn the ropes of digital journalism, from researching breaking news to crafting compelling articles that drive conversation. This position offers a great opportunity for career growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, write, and publish engaging articles on various sports topics, with a focus on Nigerian and international football
- Cover breaking news, match previews, reviews, and feature stories
- Craft catchy and SEO-friendly headlines to attract readers
- Source and include relevant images, videos, and social media content in your articles
- Proofread and edit your work to ensure it is accurate, factual, and error-free
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and news in the world of sports
Qualifications
- A current student or recent graduate in Mass Communication, English, Journalism, or a related field (or simply a proven passion for writing)
- A deep passion for and strong knowledge of sports, particularly football (NPFL, EPL, La Liga, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to write in a clear, engaging, and conversational style
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with content management systems (such as WordPress) is a plus, but not required
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and accept constructive feedback
- A reliable internet connection and a personal computer/laptop
