Solar Project Manager at ACO Nigeria

Role Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to lead the execution of large Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects from construction through commissioning and project handover.

As Solar Project Manager, you will ensure that all related activities are performed in accordance with company regulations and standards, contractual agreements, quality standards, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements, financial targets, and schedule commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the entire project installation scope of work
• Oversee commissioning of large-scale projects across C&I and mini-grid sectors
• Manage and mentor a team of project engineers to carry out project installations and commissioning
• Build and train project engineers capable of executing large solar and BESS installations
• Organize and deploy the installation team across project sites
• Plan all installation activities and manage execution by the installation team
• Manage project construction with focus on safety, quality, budget, and planning
• Provide training for the installation team as required
• Perform site audit visits to ensure proper project construction, commissioning, and testing per contractual requirements and industry best practices
• Act as the key contact for customers and manage all aspects of project communication
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Coordinate with subcontractors and equipment suppliers for project construction
• Ensure strict adherence to project design and material selection per contractual requirements
• Report on installation progress regularly

Required Qualifications

• BSc in Electrical Engineering or relevant field
• Minimum 10 years of proven site/field experience
• Extensive experience in engineering design and commissioning
