## Title: Slaughter Manager

About the Role

Resource Intermediaries Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced Slaughter Manager to oversee slaughter line operations in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will manage production processes, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead a team to deliver efficient operations while maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare and workplace safety.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage slaughter line processes, carcass loading, and chill operations to meet required productivity levels
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure uptime achievement and develop plans for production delivery; promote root cause analysis and problem-solving culture
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on activity, productivity, costs, deviations, initiatives, and actions
  • Manage animal welfare standards from livestock vehicle arrival through lairage and stunning processes
  • Ensure compliance with all customer and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor and actively manage slaughter line uptime performance, including delivery of the Preventative Maintenance System
  • Optimize efficient utilization of raw materials
  • Liaise with onsite regulatory representatives to ensure all legal and regulatory requirements for animal slaughter are met
  • Provide training and development to staff, including SOP management and operator training; maintain and review the Slaughter Training Matrix and plan appropriate training programs
  • Implement cost control measures related to labour, including management of absenteeism and resource levels
  • Ensure all Health & Safety requirements are met and that required standards and practices are maintained by all staff; undertake Risk Management Meetings and support accident investigations
  • Control operation of the payment data collection system, including SOPs and records from lairage to scales
  • Support change management and lean management initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to the Company Environmental Policy
  • Identify problems promptly through line management and ensure quick resolution with appropriate communication and escalation
  • Manage resourcing plans and handle employee issues with HR support to ensure staff are motivated, trained, and managed to deliver business results
