Senior Technical Advisor – MEAL

Position Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join RedAid in Enugu, Nigeria. The successful candidate will have overall oversight of the monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities of projects in line with donor requirements and the guidelines of the Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria.

The Senior Technical Advisor – MEAL will provide capacity building and technical leadership for all program areas. This role involves leading the development of comprehensive strategies, MEAL approaches, and tools for the design and implementation of monitoring of technical components. This includes development of benchmarking and research measures, related indicators, and participation in the development of programs and projects work plans.

The position holder will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and technical staff to ensure that collected data informs program design, adaptation, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the project monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning plan and technical strategies for strengthening routine and ad hoc information systems and data use for learning and decision making
• Lead project activities to facilitate the capture and use of relevant knowledge and evidence to guide project strategy, support adaptive management and continuous improvement, and advance learning
• Oversee project knowledge management, including the development and dissemination of tools, materials, reports, papers, and intervention-linked research
• Lead the development and tracking of MEAL plans
• Institute routine data reviews as part of an adaptive management process, including analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data to project management and technical leads
• Work closely with the Director of Programs and project team to ensure compatibility and coordination within the theory of change and MEAL framework and consistency with national and donor requirements
• Strengthen capacity across program areas in MEAL implementation
