Senior Structural Engineer at Westfield Consulting

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. You will provide structural support for tenders and offshore projects, delivering specialist skills, integrity, and knowledge in key areas of structural engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements, and current good engineering practice.

Reporting Structure

You will report to the Engineering Manager (functional) and Project Manager (project-related). You will supervise Structural Engineers and Draughtsmen involved in structural calculations and drafting.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Functional Responsibilities

• Provide structural stability and integrity calculations for subsea structures
• Design structures to resist forces for in-service, installation, and transportation load conditions
• Determine size, shape, strength, and type of structural members
• Produce and check design documentation including feasibility reports, detailed design reports, and equipment specifications
• Produce specifications, data sheets, and Materials, Take-offs (MTOs)
• Coordinate structural engineering support for the execution of multi-discipline projects in line with defined budget and schedule
• Provide specialist structural engineering assistance during occasional offshore or site working periods
• Contribute to key project events such as Bid Clarifications, Kickoff meetings, and Design Reviews
• Perform concept and detail design of offshore fit-for-purpose lifting arrangements and steel structures, including lifting appliances, lift points, lift arrangements, grillage, and sea fastening
• Perform structural strength verification analyses, including advanced non-linear Finite Element Analysis using software packages such as SACS
• Review structural deliverables including construction reports and drawings
• Perform quality control on deliverables prepared by colleagues
• Ensure timely completion of all assigned engineering deliverables
• Provide engineering support during the execution and fabrication phases of projects
