Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to play a key role in advancing the teaching, research, and professional practice of Nursing Science. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering academic lectures, mentoring students, engaging in scholarly research, and contributing to the academic and administrative growth of the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, seminars, and practical sessions in core areas of Nursing Science
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students' research and clinical placements
• Participate in curriculum design, development, and periodic review in line with NUC and NMCN standards
• Conduct independent and collaborative research and publish in reputable academic journals
• Serve on departmental and university committees and contribute to policy formulation and implementation
• Mentor junior academic staff and support academic leadership within the department
• Engage in community health outreach and strengthen partnerships with healthcare institutions

Qualifications and Requirements

• Ph.D. in Nursing Science or a closely related discipline from a recognized university
• Registered Nurse/Midwife with a valid license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN)
• Minimum of six (6) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience in a recognized university or comparable institution
• Evidence of substantial scholarly publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals
• Proven experience in student supervision, curriculum development, and academic mentorship
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team
• Administrative experience within a university or healthcare institution (an added advantage)
