## Title: Senior Finance Officer
Position Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join our organization as a Senior Finance Officer. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Lagos State, Nigeria, reporting to the Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy and completeness in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts; prepare monthly financial statements, including distributing monthly revenue and expenditure reports to departments
- Ensure all company financial transactions are captured accurately and timely, both manually and within electronic accounting systems (SAGE 200); maintain an efficient filing and document retrieval system for all accounting books and ledgers
- Analyze and reconcile expenditure and revenue accounts, including investment reports
- Execute wire transfers and journal funding transfers; reconcile monthly bank statements
- Calculate and prepare reimbursement billings; track receivables and reconcile monthly accounts receivable
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets; prepare periodic reports comparing budgeted costs to actual performance and highlight issues for management attention
- Prepare audit schedules for external auditors and assist with the audit process
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, bank reconciliation statements, and receivables and payables ageing analyses
- Manage cash control and disbursement; prepare periodic treasury reports and cash flow forecasts; liaise with banks and process transactions
Required Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in leading people
- Strong proficiency in financial analysis and reporting
- Experience with accounting systems and financial management software
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
