Senior Accountant at HR Aid

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join our client in the IT industry as a Senior Accountant. This role offers the chance to oversee critical financial operations and provide strategic financial guidance to support company growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning, Control & Reporting

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Lead the preparation and timely submission of financial statements, including:
  • Management accounts (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
  • CBN/Regulatory returns
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Develop, monitor, and analyze budgets and financial performance
• Conduct variance analyses and provide actionable insights
• Prepare accurate cash flow forecasts to support liquidity and funding needs
• Manage tax planning, computation, remittance, and statutory deductions (PAYE, VAT, WHT, etc.)

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations including CBN guidelines, FIRS requirements, and IFRS standards
• Establish and maintain robust internal control systems, policies, and procedures
• Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and tax consultants
• Ensure proper record-keeping, audit readiness, and risk mitigation

Portfolio & Credit Oversight (Supporting COO)

• Collaborate with the credit and risk teams to ensure quality loan underwriting, sound credit decisioning, and portfolio monitoring
• Monitor credit performance and analyze delinquencies; support recovery efforts and portfolio remedial actions
• Conduct periodic loan book and collateral reviews to ensure compliance with facility agreements
• Support the COO in credit risk evaluation and monthly risk asset meetings

Strategic Financial Advisory

• Provide insights and recommendations to support the company's financial strategy, investment decisions, and operational improvements
• Drive automation and digital transformation in the finance department
• Track and analyze key financial metrics
