About the Role

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Safety Officer. This role is critical in maintaining a safe and compliant workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards
• Train employees on safety protocols and the importance of health and safety practices
• Monitor workplace compliance with health and safety regulations
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes
• Develop and implement comprehensive safety plans aligned with company standards and government regulations
• Address unsafe conditions and actions in the workplace
• Prepare detailed safety reports on workplace issues
• Ensure full compliance with site standards, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements
• Support the development of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and programs
• Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures
• Initiate and organize OHS training for employees and executives
• Stop any unsafe acts or processes that pose danger or health risks
• Record incidents and manage worker's compensation claims
• Support emergency preparedness and response efforts, including developing evacuation plans and procedures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote safety initiatives and integrate safety practices into daily operations
• Establish and maintain effective communication channels with external organizations, government bodies, and safety organizations
• Monitor contractor compliance with Company permit to work processes
• Ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) requirements at project sites

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc. or HND in Safety Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 2–4 years of HSE experience, preferably within logistics, construction, maritime, or oil and gas sectors
• Relevant certifications in health and safety
