Job Summary

To carry out sourcing, negotiation, selection and buying of quality food items for the outlet at the local markets in and around Abuja.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor supply markets and trends, including fresh produce/supplies price changes, shortages, and supply variations, and reflect these changes in periodic requisitions
• Maintain records of purchases, pricing, vendors, and other important details
• Periodically receive requisitions from respective outlets on designated requisition days
• Disburse outlets' requests accordingly on scheduled disbursement days
• Keep records of issuing and requisition notes for reconciliation purposes
• Ensure that all supplies purchased meet quality standards
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure that all supply categories are delivered at the agreed time, date, and quantity
• Define quality standards and communicate the cost of non-conformance to suppliers
• Proactively develop and maintain good relationships with the supplier base
• Maintain and update lists of suppliers, delivery times, and other terms
• Nurture supplier relationships to negotiate the best prices for the company

Requirements

• Minimum of SSCE certification or equivalent qualification
• Minimum of 1–3 years' experience as a Procurement/Purchasing Officer, preferably in the Food and Restaurant industry
• Ability to read and write
• Working understanding of the local market terrain and techniques
• Familiarity with market trends and forecasting techniques
• Knowledge of markets in and around Abuja
