About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join JIJEDAPT Human Resources Consult Limited in Lagos, Nigeria, as a Quantity Surveyor. You will be responsible for managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects from initial calculations to final accounts. The role ensures value for money while maintaining quality standards, prepares accurate cost estimates, and provides contractual and commercial support throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation & Analysis
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documents
- Evaluate drawings, specifications, and project requirements to project accurate costs
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for proposed projects
Contract & Procurement Management
- Assist in the preparation, evaluation, and negotiation of contracts and subcontractor agreements
- Support procurement processes, including pricing, cost comparison, and vendor selection
- Monitor and track material and labour costs to ensure alignment with the budget
Project Monitoring & Reporting
- Manage and track project budgets, variations, and cost control measures
- Prepare interim valuations, progress reports, and cost forecasts
- Measure and value work done on-site in collaboration with site teams
Risk & Compliance
- Identify and evaluate commercial risks and propose mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and safety standards
- Maintain proper documentation of all project-related financial records
Final Accounts & Closeout
- Prepare and agree on final accounts with clients and contractors
- Ensure timely submission of invoices, payment applications, and financial reports
Required Qualifications
- BSc / HND in Quantity Surveying or a relevant field
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in construction or engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of construction processes and materials
- Professional certification (e.g., NIQS, RQS) is an added advantage
