## Title: Purchase Manager
Position Summary
We are expanding our team and looking for a qualified and experienced Purchase Manager to lead procurement operations at our Ajaokuta Factory.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate fair knowledge of various inventory items used in the manufacturing process
- Leverage exposure to OEM and suppliers of relevant goods to optimize procurement
- Execute techno-commercial roles with analytical ability to work on re-order levels
- Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure agreed lead times and cycle times are maintained
- Identify alternatives and innovate to drive cost-efficiency solutions
- Engage with suppliers to ensure commitment dates are met
- Coordinate with internal customers to move Purchase Requisitions (PR) to Purchase Orders (PO) to receipt
- Ensure technical specifications and quality parameters are met
- Maintain strong supplier relationships
- Conduct supplier audits to maintain standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or procurement environment
- Strong computer skills
- Analytical mindset with a techno-commercial approach
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with a proven track record of effective negotiation and cost-saving initiatives/strategic sourcing
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, contract negotiation, and vendor management
- Experience managing and developing procurement teams
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
