Project Officer at BigSun Africa

About the Role

BigSun Africa seeks a dedicated Project Officer to support all phases of project management, from planning and implementation through monitoring and evaluation. You will work closely with implementing partners and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered effectively and aligned with organizational goals.

Job Purpose

The Project Officer supports project planning, implementation, and monitoring activities. This includes designing project activities, tracking progress against milestones, managing budgets, liaising with implementing partners and stakeholders, conducting field visits, and collecting data for reporting and evaluation purposes. The role also involves providing technical support and training, managing stakeholder communication, and ensuring projects align with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the program team to record, analyze, and communicate monitoring data in a timely manner to inform program decision-making
• Conduct quarterly surveys and data analysis, making recommendations to improve project outcomes based on findings
• Support the Project Manager in preparing periodic project reports using accurate, evidence-based data and information
• Support the Monitoring and Evaluation team in tracking activity outcomes through accurate data collection to enhance reporting quality
• Identify and document human interest stories and case studies highlighting project successes
• Assist the program team in reviewing logframes, M&E work plans, and targets during proposal development and project implementation stages
• Conduct training needs assessments to identify needs and opportunities
• Collect project indicator data and maintain an updated database on project progress
• Track project performance at community level and report on, monitor, and follow up on project activities
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor activity implementation, gather beneficiary feedback, and submit detailed reports on activities and findings

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Project Management or related field
