Position Summary
- We are seeking a highly disciplined and reliable Professional Driver to join our onshore support team.
- This role is critical to our "100% Uptime" mission, as it bridges the gap between our shorebase operations and our fleet.
- You will be responsible for the safe and timely movement of personnel, equipment, and sensitive documentation (waybills) while providing essential administrative support to the logistics department.
- Fleet & Shorebase Logistics: Facilitate the efficient transfer of spare parts, provisions, and equipment from the warehouse or shorebase to the vessels at the jetty.
- Documentation Management: Handle the delivery and tracking of waybills, manifests, and official corporate correspondence, ensuring all documents are signed and returned to the appropriate departments.
- Personnel Transport: Safely transport crew members, technical teams, and visitors between the airport, corporate office, and various port terminals.
- Administrative Support: Assist the logistics and admin teams with errands including terminal gate passes, equipment sourcing, and basic filing when not on active transit.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-trip inspections (fluids, tires, brakes) and ensure the assigned vehicle is kept in pristine condition, following all scheduled maintenance routines.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to Nigerian road safety laws, port authority regulations, and Tamrose’s internal QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) policies.
- Education: Minimum of a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE). An OND is an advantage.
- Experience: At least 5–7 years of professional driving experience, preferably within the maritime, oil and gas, or logistics sectors.
- Licensing: Must possess a valid Nigerian Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of Port Harcourt road networks and port terminal locations (e.g., Onne, NPA).
- Basic computer literacy for tracking deliveries and communicating via mobile apps/email.
- Ability to read and interpret logistics waybills and manifests.
- High level of integrity and punctuality.
- Excellent communication skills and a "People First" attitude when interacting with crew and clients.
- Physical fitness is required for the occasional loading/unloading of light equipment.
