About the Role

We are seeking a Production Manager to oversee all daily operations of our manufacturing plant. You will be responsible for ensuring that policies and procedures are followed while developing processes that maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage employees, production efficiency, and plant operations to ensure smooth, quick, efficient, and safe performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customer expectations
• Oversee production output, product quality, and on-time delivery
• Decide how best to use plant workers and equipment to meet production goals
• Ensure production stays on schedule and within budget
• Monitor plant workers to ensure they meet performance targets and safety requirements
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix production challenges during the manufacturing process
• Create ways to make the production process leaner and more efficient
• Determine whether new machines are needed or whether overtime work is necessary
• Direct and manage plant operations for production, maintenance, quality, and inventory
• Coordinate plant activities with departmental managers to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Analyse production data and produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the COO
• Assist in the recruitment of technical staff, train, and evaluate workers
• Develop and control profit plans and budgets
• Implement cost-effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries
• Manage capital asset maintenance
• Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards
• Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses
• Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace or make adjustments when necessary
• Provide leadership to the production team
