Procurement Intern at Godiya Cherished Care for Humanitarian Response Initiative (GCCHRI)

Job Summary

The Procurement Intern will support the procurement team in sourcing, purchasing, and contract management. The intern will gain hands-on experience in procurement processes while contributing to the organization's operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with procurement processes, including tendering and bidding
• Support contract management and vendor selection
• Conduct market research and supplier identification
• Help with purchase order processing and invoicing
• Support procurement reporting and compliance
• Assist with inventory management and stock control
• Maintain procurement records and databases
• Manage document photocopying, scanning, and archiving of procurement files
• Properly file all procurement documents
• Send requests for feedback regarding supplier performance and update supplier files
• Ensure that all supplies, services, and equipment required are delivered on time
• Expedite suppliers to ensure timely delivery and address any delays or issues
• Maintain and update the asset inventory, ensuring accurate record-keeping for office equipment and supplies
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of logistics documents for easy retrieval and audit readiness
• Assist in data entry and updating databases, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information
• Follow up internally between the Procurement, Logistics, and Finance departments on procurement-related transactions
• Support the asset disposal process in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
• Ensure all field goods are dispatched with necessary documentation (Waybill)
• Collaborate with suppliers to build and maintain good working relationships
• Receive goods upon delivery

Requirements

• ND (National Diploma) or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, or equivalent qualification
• Recent graduate (preferred)
