Plant Manager (Pharmaceutical)

About the Role

A reputable pharmaceutical organization seeks a dedicated and experienced Plant Manager to lead all aspects of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. This is a senior leadership position responsible for operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and the successful commissioning and management of GMP-compliant facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end pharmaceutical manufacturing operations
• Drive the design, construction, equipment selection, and commissioning of new GMP-compliant facilities
• Institutionalize operational excellence and compliance systems across the plant
• Prepare the plant for world-class regulatory inspections and audits
• Build and mentor a high-performance technical leadership team
• Deliver aggressive cost, yield, and efficiency targets
• Transition new facilities from project phase into stable commercial production

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
• 10–15+ years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with at least 8 years in senior plant leadership roles
• Proven expertise in multiple manufacturing areas:
  • Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) – tablets, capsules, coating
  • Powder processing
  • Liquid dosage forms
  • WHO GMP-compliant environments
  • Full lifecycle plant commissioning
• Experience managing regulatory inspections (NAFDAC, WHO GMP, or equivalent international bodies)
• MBA or advanced management qualification (advantageous)
