## Title: Pharmacist
About the Role
A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent. We are seeking a Pharmacist to join our hospital and services team. You will be responsible for dispensing medications, reviewing prescriptions for accuracy, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing expert advice on the safe use of drugs.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret physicians' prescriptions to ensure accuracy and suitability for patients
- Dispense prescribed medications and counsel patients on proper usage, dosage, and possible side effects
- Monitor patient drug therapies to avoid interactions and ensure optimal treatment outcomes
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, controlled drugs, and stock levels in line with hospital policy
- Manage the storage, distribution, and inventory of pharmaceuticals to ensure quality and safety
- Participate in ward rounds, drug utilization reviews, and multidisciplinary care planning
- Provide guidance and training to pharmacy technicians, interns, and other healthcare staff
- Ensure compliance with all professional and legal requirements of the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria and hospital regulations
- Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical pharmacy services
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) Degree from an accredited institution
- Current license to practice issued by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN)
- Minimum of 2–3 years post-NYSC experience in a hospital or clinical setting
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and hospital formulary management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High ethical standards and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency in hospital information systems and Microsoft Office applications (advantageous)
