## Title: Pastry Cook
Job Purpose
The Pastry Cook is responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting pastries, cakes, desserts, and other baked goods according to company standards. The role requires creativity, attention to detail, and adherence to hygiene and food safety while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake pastries, cakes, pies, bread, cookies, and desserts
- Decorate pastries and desserts to ensure appealing presentation
- Follow recipes and develop new pastry items when required
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the pastry section
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the supervisor
- Maintain compliance with food hygiene, health, and safety standards (HACCP/NAFDAC/local regulations)
- Support catering and event functions with pastry requirements
- Work with the team to ensure consistency and efficiency in production
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience as a pastry cook, baker, or in a similar role
- Knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods, and decoration skills
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity and passion for desserts and pastries
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene
Working Conditions
- Based in Lagos
- Flexible work schedule (may include mornings, weekends, and event days)
- Kitchen environment with exposure to heat and baking equipment
