Job Summary
We are recruiting a skilled Pastry Chef to join our team at Estuary Business Solutions (EBS) in Lagos, Nigeria. You will be responsible for the preparation, presentation, and serving of afro-fusion fine dining meals and pastries. Your role will ensure all meals meet our high-quality standards with timely delivery, while managing stock inventory and re-stocking requests.
You will be expected to familiarize yourself with all relevant practices that ensure successful execution of your duties, maintain diligent performance at all times, and demonstrate excellence in delivery with a customer-centric approach in all interactions.
Key Responsibilities
Culinary and Pastry Preparation
- Utilize culinary expertise to prepare and create a diverse range of savory meals and pastries
- Bake, decorate, and write messages on cakes using pastry bags and tips
- Execute precise techniques in chopping, marinating, and measuring ingredients according to established recipes
Menu Development
- Contribute to menu development by proposing new dishes and pastry items
- Consider seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends in menu planning
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure a balanced and innovative menu
Kitchen Management
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
- Oversee washing of dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment
- Ensure proper sanitation of food preparation areas, countertops, cutting boards, and cooking surfaces to the highest hygiene standards
Stock Control and Inventory Management
- Monitor and manage kitchen inventory for both culinary and pastry ingredients
- Unload and store deliveries in designated areas
- Ensure proper rotation of stock
Service Excellence
- Provide hands-on support during peak hours
- Oversee both culinary and pastry production to maintain quality and efficiency
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless coordination
