## Title: Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Specialist
About the Role
A dynamic team is expanding and seeking a skilled NDT Specialist to join International Energy Services Limited in Lagos, Nigeria. This role is central to ensuring quality assurance and compliance across all non-destructive testing and welding operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in welding, welder, and welding operator qualification procedures, including mechanical testing when required
- Review and approve NDT procedures and operators in liaison with CTR level 3
- Review and interpret radiography films in addition to third-party interpretations
- Monitor NDT subcontractor and contractor inspectors' qualifications and performance
- Ensure non-destructive technicians maintain valid certifications for their work and cross-check NDT methods (UT, PT, MT), with particular focus on AUT
- Monitor performance of production tests and NDE for quality and frequency, ensuring conformity with relevant specifications and codes
- Supervise and witness inspections; check reports, documentation, and verify collection of required quality records
- Ensure contractors maintain accurate welding and NDT records throughout the contractual period
- Maintain acceptable testing standards and alert QA/QC Lead if repair rates exceed acceptable levels
- Ensure timely delivery of preliminary welding tests and NDE documents to support procurement and construction progress while reducing costs without compromising quality or safety
- Maintain complete records concerning the execution of works
- Verify that all statutory authority permits and design approvals are available on site for construction
- Determine actions required to manage each work instruction
- Review contractor quality control and inspection procedures, including ITPs
- Supervise company hold points, monitoring, witness, and review inspection activities
- Organize and attend NDT audits
- Monitor external audit findings, remarks, and other reported quality problems
