Network & Security Engineer at Alfred & Victoria Associates

About the Role

We seek a dedicated Network & Security Engineer to maintain and enhance our organization's security systems. In this position, you will implement and test new security features, plan system upgrades, troubleshoot issues, and respond to security incidents. You will enforce security policies and ensure that our networking systems can withstand potential security threats and disruptions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy robust security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems
• Configure and optimize firewalls, routers, and other network infrastructure for maximum security
• Conduct security assessments and audits to identify network vulnerabilities and propose solutions
• Monitor network activity and traffic to detect suspicious behavior and prevent unauthorized access
• Lead incident response efforts to address cyberattacks, malware, and security breaches effectively
• Regularly update and patch operating systems, firewalls, and security applications to protect against evolving threats
• Perform penetration testing to simulate cyberattacks and evaluate network resilience
• Develop and enforce security policies to ensure consistent cybersecurity practices across the organization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align security policies with organizational goals and industry standards

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred for advanced roles)
• 2-5 years of experience in network security, information security, or a related discipline
• Proficiency in configuring firewalls, routers, and security protocols
• Programming knowledge
