Network Engineer at Layer3

Job Responsibilities

• Provide extensive hands-on engineering-level support on switching and routing technologies including BGP, OSPF, MPLS/VPLS, spanning tree protocols (MSTP, RSTP), 802.1x, 802.11, 802.16, VPN, DMVPN, SDN, VRRP/HSRP, WAN Acceleration, QoS, VoIP, VTC, cloud, automation and similar network technologies
• Analyze and troubleshoot network communications failures and bottlenecks
• Analyze system logs to identify potential issues and troubleshoot reported network problems
• Perform switching tasks including VTP, ISL/802.1q, IPSec and GRE Tunneling, VLANs, Ether Channel, Trunking, Port Security, STP and RSTP
• Configure LAN/WAN/WLAN links using VSI/L2VC for MPLS L2VPN with availability for on-call duties as needed
• Understand and assist in technical strategies for the design, configuration and maintenance of LAN, WAN and wireless networks to ensure stability, integrity and operational effectiveness
• Participate in the design and configuration of internal and external networks as required for assigned projects
• Supervise IP/MPLS services implementation covering installations, testing and handover
• Proactively perform corrective maintenance for IP/MPLS networks
• Develop automation and internal systems and tools to support IP/MPLS network operations and integration activities
• Lead network planning, configuration and implementation
• Design and develop routing topology for Core, Access, Metro and Edge network infrastructures for converged data and communications services
• Drive digital transformation initiatives using Cloud, Security, Big Data, IoT, SDN, SDS and SD-WAN technologies
• Respond to RFQs and prepare proposals

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering
