Network and Network Security Engineer

Position Overview

Ha-Shem Limited is seeking a qualified Network and Network Security Engineer to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network infrastructure and security solutions for our organization and customers.

Key Responsibilities

Network Infrastructure Design and Implementation

• Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure for the organization and customers, including networking protocols, architecture, and LAN/WAN technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, VRFs, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.) and wireless networks to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance
• Design on-premises and cloud data center architectures and technologies
• Evaluate and recommend network hardware, software, and protocols to support business requirements
• Configure and optimize network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN concentrators based on industry best practices and security policies
• Configure network devices in virtualization environments (CML, VMware, VirtualBox, PNET, Hyper-V, etc.)

Network Security Infrastructure Design and Implementation

• Configure and manage network security appliances, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and identity management engines (ISE)
• Configure Zero Trust Network Architecture (ZTNA), VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL/TLS, etc.), and remote access solutions
• Configure integration of network security solutions with identity provider (IDP) authentication
• Develop and implement network security policies, procedures, and standards to safeguard network infrastructure from unauthorized access, intrusions, and other security threats

Network Monitoring, Troubleshooting, and Optimization

• Monitor network performance and security metrics to identify and resolve issues promptly
• Troubleshoot complex network and security problems
• Optimize network performance based on monitoring data

Collaboration, Documentation, and Reporting

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of network infrastructure, configurations, and security policies
• Provide regular reporting on network performance and security status
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Additional Responsibilities

• Support OEM, product, and solution workloads
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
• Conduct training and workshops on network technologies and solutions
