Job Summary

The Medical Officer will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients, conducting clinical assessments, diagnosing illnesses, prescribing treatment, and ensuring effective follow-up. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound clinical judgment, compassion, and professionalism while maintaining compliance with medical and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical evaluation and treatment to patients
• Perform routine and emergency clinical duties including consultations, examinations, and minor procedures
• Request and interpret laboratory and diagnostic test results
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records
• Work collaboratively with nurses, laboratory scientists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care
• Participate in health education, preventive care, and wellness programs
• Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and safety standards
• Provide support during medical emergencies and carry out necessary interventions
• Contribute to clinical meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications and Requirements

• MBBS degree
• Valid license to practice medicine
• Minimum of 1–3 years post-NYSC clinical experience preferred
• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to patient-centered care and professional ethics
