Medical Laboratory Technician at Grandville Medical & Laser

About the Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join our laboratory team. You will assist the Lab Scientist in carrying out laboratory duties and maintaining laboratory equipment. You will report directly to the Lab Scientist.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize work by matching computer orders with specimen labelling, sorting specimens, and checking labelling accuracy
• Log specimens and arrange reports for delivery
• Keep work surfaces clean and orderly
• Run tests under the supervision of the Lab Scientist
• Maintain quality results by running standards and controls
• Verify equipment function through routine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Calibrate equipment using approved testing procedures
• Monitor quality control measures and protocols
• Identify and communicate abnormal patient conditions by alerting supervisory personnel, pathologists, physicians, or nurses
• Report mandated information to the public health department or other designated officials
• Maintain patient confidence by keeping laboratory information confidential
