Position Overview

This position involves creating and maintaining material codes, collaborating with various departments, and supporting project objectives through effective material management.

Key Responsibilities

Material Code Development

• Generate unique and descriptive codes for mechanical components and materials, ensuring consistency
• Maintain an organized database of material codes for easy retrieval and reference

Collaboration with Engineering and Procurement

• Work closely with design and project engineers to understand material specifications and requirements
• Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure accurate material descriptions for sourcing and purchasing

Data Integrity and Standardization

• Ensure all material codes align with company and industry standards, facilitating uniformity across projects
• Regularly audit material data for accuracy and completeness

Support for Project Activities

• Assist project teams by providing accurate material information, aiding in planning and execution
• Participate in project meetings to offer insights on material availability and specifications

Continuous Improvement

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

Experience

• 6–8 years of experience in project engineering, material management, or a similar role within mechanical engineering projects

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in engineering design and understanding of mechanical components
• Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) management and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
