Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the safe and efficient operation of marine vessels
• Manage marine crew, coordinate logistics, and maintain vessel performance
• Manage crew scheduling and ensure adequate manning levels
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures
• Ensure vessels are compliant with international maritime laws and company standards
• Monitor vessel performance and maintenance schedules
• Review maintenance reports and recommend improvements
• Liaise with engineering teams for repairs and upgrades
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
• Assist in budgeting and cost management for marine operations
• Coordinate logistics for vessel movements and port calls
• Analyze performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement
• Collaborate with port authorities, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders
• Communicate with clients regarding operational issues and performance
• Prepare regular reports on operational performance and safety metrics

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or related field
• Minimum of 15 years' experience in marine operations, preferably in a supervisory role
• Strong understanding of maritime regulations and safety standards
• Relevant certifications (e.g., STCW, GMDSS) highly desirable
• Proficiency in marine management software and MS Office Suite
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
