Maintenance Planner / Scheduler Junior Role

About the Role

A reputable organization seeks a dedicated individual to join their maintenance planning team. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of all maintenance activities, ensuring efficient resource utilization and seamless coordination across operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate that safety is the top priority in all planning activities
• Participate in planning sessions with core and work teams
• Plan and schedule routine maintenance work as required
• Develop schedules, cost estimates, and equipment planning for routine work during turnaround windows
• Plan complex jobs and develop resource plans with schedulers, execution leads, and operations teams across all disciplines
• Identify and monitor critical and sub-critical paths for major events
• Apply advanced planning and estimating tools applicable to the position
• Educate field execution personnel on look-ahead schedules and ensure timely work progression
• Provide input to maintenance work contracting and procurement strategy
• Resolve scheduling issues including negative float, out-of-sequence updates, resource overloads, and scope changes
• Develop complete job plans including materials, resources, and timelines
• Provide input into material selection and management
• Plan, estimate, and track maintenance activities

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Good understanding of safety, health, and environmental (SHE) requirements
• Knowledge of work selection criteria and work planning
• Understanding of norms estimating and procurement practices
• Knowledge of business practices and controls
• Contractor interface awareness
• Ability to develop job packs
• Skilled in scheduling work tasks for efficient resource utilization
• Excellent coordination and communication abilities
• Strong understanding of equipment readiness and material availability requirements
• Ability to manage labor crew skills composition and assignment
• Proficiency with planning and scheduling software tools
