Machine Operator/Machinist at Hobark International Limited

About the Role

Hobark International Limited is seeking a qualified Machine Operator/Machinist to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating tools, machining components, and performing threading/rethreading operations on customer equipment to API Specifications and Standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate tools and machine spears according to API Specifications and Standards
• Perform threading and rethreading of internal and external customer equipment
• Provide maintenance, refurbishment, and rethreading services for tools in the Jar Shop, CTR, and Fishing divisions according to specifications
• Operate CNC lathe, manual lathe, drilling machine, milling machine, and grinding machine
• Check machine set-up to ensure proper tooling and adjustments
• Collect connection gauges, gauging procedures, specification notes, and inspection reports from the QAQC room
• Visually inspect gauges for damage and report any issues immediately to QAQC personnel
• Operate overhead crane, hoist, or other lifting devices for equipment and material movement

Required Qualifications and Experience

• National Diploma (ND) minimum
• Minimum of ten years' experience in machining operations

Required Skills and Competencies

• Technical competency in machining techniques
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications
• Proficiency in determining dimensions, tolerances, and sequence of operations from drawings and sample parts
• Skill in using tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, and other machining accessories
• Strong task prioritization and time management abilities
• Ability to work effectively under pressure with minimal or no supervision
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods
