About the Role

An established company is recruiting for a Legal Counsel to join their team. In this role, you will represent clients in civil and commercial litigation matters and provide strategic legal guidance across a range of legal services.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in civil and commercial litigation matters, including trials, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
• Conduct legal research, analyze case law and statutes, and provide strategic legal advice and guidance to clients
• Draft legal documents, pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings
• Negotiate settlements and alternative dispute resolution solutions when appropriate
• Support staff to ensure effective case management and client representation
• Maintain accurate and organized case files, documents, and correspondence

Requirements

• 2 - 7 years of practice experience
• Efficient drafting and advocacy skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong research skills with familiarity with legal libraries and legal software
• Due diligence, discipline, and a positive work attitude
• Litigation experience and ability to perform tasks under minimal supervision
