Qualifications Required

Candidates must meet ONE of the following pathways:

Pathway 1: PhD Holders

• PhD or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, or Veterinary Medicine
• OR Fellowship in Medicine registered with MDCN or Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN)
• A minimum of three (3) years experience as Lecturer II/Librarian II
• Admissible publications totaling not less than twenty-five (25) points
• Job Appraisal score of not less than forty-five (45) points
• Minimum of five (5) publications

Pathway 2: Master's Degree Holders

• Master's Degree qualification
• A minimum of three (3) years experience as Lecturer II/Librarian II
• Admissible publications totaling not less than thirty (30) points
• Citations not less than five (5)
• Job Appraisal score of not less than forty-five (45) points
• Minimum of six (6) publications

Additional Requirements

• Up-to-date membership in relevant professional body/bodies
• A minimum score of two (2) points in Academic Leadership/Administrative Responsibility
• Visible profile on Google Scholar or ResearchGate with citation not less than five (5)

Successful applicants taking up a teaching appointment at the University for the first time may enter at not more than the rank of Lecturer I.
