About the Role

The Laboratory Chemist will be responsible for studying the chemical composition of materials essential to our day-to-day production to ensure product safety. The role focuses on preparing test solutions, analyzing organic and inorganic compounds, conducting quality control tests, and exploring how products, processes, and equipment may be improved.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, label, and analyze samples according to established protocols
• Design and execute laboratory testing according to standard procedures, make observations, and interpret findings
• Prepare test solutions, compounds, and reagents for conducting tests
• Advise on and coordinate test procedures with team members
• Determine chemical and physical properties, compositions, structures, relationships, and reactions of organic and inorganic compounds
• Utilize chromatography, spectroscopy, and spectrophotometry techniques
• Develop, improve, and customize products, equipment, formulas, processes, and analytical methods
• Confer with scientists and engineers to analyze, interpret, and develop tests
• Clean, sterilize, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and order laboratory supplies as needed
• Provide technical support when necessary
• Ensure strict compliance with all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, orderly laboratory environment
• Evaluate and ensure adherence to laboratory safety procedures and standards

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proficiency in chemical analysis and testing procedures
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation and analytical techniques
• Knowledge of organic and inorganic chemistry
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent safety awareness and compliance orientation
• Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting capabilities
