## Title: Junior Credit Analyst
Position Overview
This position offers a great opportunity for career growth in credit analysis and risk assessment within the microfinance sector.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Statement Analysis
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess the creditworthiness of SME clients
- Ascertain profitability, liquidity, and leverage ratios of businesses to determine repayment capacity
- Recommend eligible loan amounts for approval
Credit Risk Assessment
- Evaluate credit risk associated with SME loan requests and provide recommendations on credit limits, terms, and conditions
- Evaluate economic, socio-political, and regulatory factors that may affect the continuity of operations for SME clients
Collateral Recommendation
- Recommend appropriate collateral mix acceptable by the bank to act as a buffer in the event of loan default
- Ensure assets to be pledged as collateral are adequately valued by the Bank's accredited valuers
- Ensure the value of pledged collateral meets the Bank's stipulated collateral coverage requirements
Loan Interview and Due Diligence
- Communicate with clients to gather financial information, clarify credit report discrepancies, and provide credit decisions
- Visit client business premises for advanced due diligence depending on loan amount or thresholds set by the bank
Loan Performance Review and Reporting
- Review the performance of SME portfolio on a monthly basis
- Generate reports to Management showing the collection efficiency rate of SME loans processed monthly
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or HND, preferably in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics (other disciplines may be considered)
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as an SME analyst
