## Title: Junior Finance Officer
Job Summary
A reputable organization seeks a dedicated Junior Finance Officer to support the finance team in managing accounting records, financial transactions, and reporting activities. This role is ideal for fresh graduates with 1 to 2 years' experience holding a degree in Accounting or Finance who have completed their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and are currently undergoing or have completed their ICAN certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets
- Record and maintain financial transactions in accordance with accounting principles
- Support accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely invoices and payments
- Reconcile bank statements and financial discrepancies
- Assist in tax computations, filings, and regulatory compliance
- Participate in financial audits and provide necessary documentation
- Support cost analysis and financial forecasting to enhance decision-making
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure adherence to internal controls
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial alignment with business goals
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Completed the 1-year compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)
- 1–2 years of working experience
- ICAN certification in progress or completed
- Basic understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
- Practical experience with payment processes and vendor management
- Experience managing banking relationships
