Internal Auditor at an Oil & Gas Company

Job Summary

The Internal Auditor is responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. This role leads and conducts audit assignments, ensures compliance with internal policies, and supports business integrity through independent review and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and report on operational, financial, and compliance audits across all business units
• Review and assess reliability of financial records and effectiveness of internal controls
• Evaluate business processes for policy and procedural compliance
• Identify audit risks, develop appropriate audit programs, and maintain audit documentation
• Report audit findings, recommend solutions, and follow up on implementation of corrective actions
• Monitor regulatory changes and update audit programs accordingly
• Support management in risk assessment, fraud prevention, and process improvement initiatives
• Liaise with external auditors and regulatory agencies as required
• Prepare periodic audit reports for senior management and board
• Maintain confidentiality of all audit information and sensitive company data
• Observe and implement HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, Quality) requirements in all audit activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIA) preferred
• Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in auditing, risk management, or compliance
