Information Technology (IT) Hardware and Network Executive

Position Overview

An IT Hardware & Network Engineer designs, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots an organization's network infrastructure, focusing on routers, switches, firewalls, and security. This role ensures reliable connectivity, performance, and data integrity, requiring skills in TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, security protocols, and hardware repair.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Implementation: Configure, install, and test network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, access points) and software
• Maintenance & Support: Troubleshoot complex network and hardware issues, replace components, monitor performance, and provide technical support
• Security: Implement and maintain network security measures, virus protection, and access controls
• Documentation: Document system configurations, network maps, and procedures
• Collaboration: Work with other IT professionals, project managers, and leadership to meet business needs
• Upgrades: Stay current and manage upgrades for hardware, software, and security systems

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in hardware and network engineering

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and firewalls
• Proficiency in hardware troubleshooting and repair
• Understanding of network security practices
• Experience with operating systems and monitoring tools
