## Title: Human Resources / Legal Officer

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join Wendernek Consulting Limited in Lagos, Nigeria as a Human Resources / Legal Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare job descriptions, advertise vacant positions, and manage the employment process
  • Orient new employees and provide training for existing employees
  • Provide legal guidance on HR policies, procedures, and compliance
  • Manage and resolve employment litigation and disputes
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations
  • Oversee internal investigations related to HR issues
  • Develop and implement HR-related legal strategies and initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources Department and management on employee relations matters
  • Draft and review employment contracts and other legal documents with keen focus on legal precision, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Conduct training sessions on legal aspects of HR for staff members
  • Oversee drafting, review, and negotiations when necessary

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law with admission to the Bar
  • Minimum 2 years of combined experience in HR and legal roles
  • Excellent knowledge of employment legislation
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Sound understanding of HR functions and best practices
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a team and individually
