About the Role

Craneburg Construction, a reputable organization based in Lagos, Nigeria, is seeking a dedicated HSE Officer to manage and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental standards across our operations.

Key Responsibilities

HSE Management System Implementation

• Assist in the implementation and enforcement of the company's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management system
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, policies, and regulations

Toolbox Talks and Site Inductions

• Conduct daily toolbox talks to ensure workforce awareness of site-specific risks and safety protocols
• Carry out site inductions for new employees, contractors, and visitors to familiarize them with site safety policies and procedures

Inspections and Equipment Monitoring

• Perform daily site inspections to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards
• Conduct routine equipment inspections to ensure safe and proper functioning in accordance with company and regulatory requirements

Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA)

• Identify workplace hazards and assess associated risks
• Recommend appropriate control measures
• Maintain up-to-date records of identified risks and implemented control strategies

Requirements

• B.Eng Degree
• 2–5 years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of HSE laws, regulations, and best practices
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for delivering toolbox talks and training
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and recommend practical safety solutions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation
