HSE Inspector at African Pits and Quarries Limited

About the Role

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of HSE Inspector.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with HSE policies and standards
• Identify unsafe acts and conditions and recommend corrective actions
• Assist in implementing and monitoring HSE programs, policies, and procedures
• Support incident and accident investigations, and follow up on corrective and preventive measures
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and HSE training sessions
• Maintain accurate HSE documentation and assist in preparing regular reports
• Ensure adherence to statutory and company safety regulations at all times

Required Qualifications

• Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as an HSE Officer or Inspector, preferably within the mining or heavy industrial sector
• Sound understanding of HSE regulations, risk assessment, and hazard control
• Good communication, observation, and reporting skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or ISPON
