HSE Deputy Manager at MG Vowgas Group

About the Role

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of HSE Deputy Manager. In this role, you will support the HSE Manager in developing, implementing, and monitoring the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the HSE Manager in developing, implementing, and monitoring the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, ISO standards, and client HSE expectations
• Lead and coordinate risk assessments, HAZID/HAZOP workshops, incident investigations, and internal & external audits
• Supervise daily site HSE operations, ensuring hazards are identified and mitigated
• Mentor, coach, and train staff on HSE procedures and safe work practices
• Support the preparation of HSE performance reports, KPIs, and continuous improvement plans
• Take charge of HSE responsibilities in the absence of the HSE Manager

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field
• 5–9 years of proven HSE experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/leadership role
• Hands-on experience in construction, fabrication, marine, and HSE projects management
• Strong track record in implementing HSE Management Systems, risk assessments, and audits
• Exposure to international standards, client requirements, and knowledge of HSE requirements for Tender and regulatory compliance

Required Certifications

• NEBOSH International General Certificate (mandatory)
• ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Lead Auditor / Internal Auditor
• HSE management certifications (IOSH, OSHA, Process Safety, Fire Safety)

Preferred Qualifications

• Membership of a professional body (ISPON)
