About the Role
We are seeking a diligent, customer-focused, and reliable Health Assistant/Cashier to join our team in Ikoyi. This position offers a great opportunity for career growth. The ideal candidate will provide excellent service to customers, ensure accurate sales transactions, maintain store cleanliness, and support daily pharmacy operations under the supervision of the Pharmacist.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide courteous assistance to customers on non-drug-related items
- Ensure shelves, products, and the environment are clean and well-organized by performing daily cleaning and arrangement tasks before opening
- Process customer payments accurately and issue receipts for all transactions
- Maintain accurate sales records and submit end-of-day reports (counter-signed by the Pharmacist on duty) to the Managing Director
- Respond to customer inquiries and answer telephone calls politely and professionally
- Participate in stock-taking exercises and verify stock quantities against invoices before shelving
- Identify and remove expired products from display immediately
- Safeguard company property and ensure proper locking of the shop at the close of business each day
- Foster teamwork and provide support to other Health Assistants/Cashiers as needed to ensure smooth daily operations
- Report all customer complaints promptly to the Managing Director or Pharmacist on duty
Requirements
- Minimum OND qualification or equivalent
- 0–1 year of experience (experience as a Cashier, Sales Assistant, or Health Assistant in a pharmacy or retail environment is advantageous)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling cash transactions
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently under supervision and as part of a team
- Punctual, honest, and dependable
Working Hours
7:45 AM – 10:00 PM (4 working days per week, inclusive of weekends and holidays)
