Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced construction project manager to head the construction and delivery team in Nigeria, specifically in Lagos and Abuja. This role will involve overseeing and managing construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. The successful candidate must be willing to work in an intense and demanding workplace setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring safe delivery on time and in accordance with specifications and quality requirements
- Manage, monitor, audit, and guide the construction and delivery team for all projects, including self-perform projects and/or EPC contractors and subcontractors
- Plan, schedule, and oversee construction projects from start to finish
- Ensure construction staff are competent and have the required abilities to fulfill their roles
- Manage and lead construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors
- Develop project objectives and goals, and assign team member responsibilities
- Ensure optimal utilization of resources, labor, and materials, and oversee their procurement
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Monitor project progress and address any issues that may arise
- Review and approve project budgets, expenditures, and timelines
- Prepare status reports, including updated cost and planning forecasts
- Coordinate with the procurement department to ensure final delivery of equipment and goods to site
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project success
- Coordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project
- Review and evaluate plans, and set performance requirements
