Head of Accounts

Position Overview: - We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Head of Accounts to lead the finance and accounts function of our organization. - The ideal candidate will oversee financial reporting, ensure statutory compliance, manage receivables and payables, and provide strategic financial guidance to support sustainable growth and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee all accounting and financial operations of the organization - Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and management reports - Manage accounts receivable and payable, including provider payments and reconciliations - Ensure full compliance with tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements (FIRS, NHIA, etc.) - Coordinate internal and external audits and facilitate audit processes - Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections - Supervise and mentor the accounts team, ensuring high performance and accountability - Implement and strengthen internal controls and financial policies - Liaise with banks, auditors, regulators, and other financial stakeholders - Provide financial insights to management to support decision-making Requirements: & Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field - Professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is mandatory - Minimum of 5–8 years relevant accounting experience, preferably in an HMO, insurance, or healthcare sector - Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations - Proven leadership and team management experience - High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail - Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel Key Competencies - Financial analysis and reporting - Compliance and risk management - Strategic thinking and problem-solving - Strong communication and stakeholder management - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
