## Title: Head Nurse

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and compassionate Head Nurse to lead our nursing team. The ideal candidate will oversee all nursing activities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in compliance with professional standards and hospital policies. This role requires a strong leader who can inspire, mentor, and manage nursing staff to maintain excellence in clinical practice and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and supervision to all nursing staff across departments
  • Ensure that patient care is delivered safely, efficiently, and compassionately
  • Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Coordinate nursing schedules, rosters, and shift allocations to ensure adequate staffing
  • Oversee patient admission, discharge, and transfer processes for seamless operations
  • Monitor nursing documentation to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance
  • Conduct regular ward rounds to assess care standards and staff performance
  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care
  • Identify staff training needs and coordinate continuous professional development programs
  • Enforce infection prevention and control measures across all units
  • Maintain effective communication channels between management and the nursing team
  • Handle patient complaints and concerns professionally and promptly
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits to uphold hospital standards
  • Ensure that medical supplies, consumables, and equipment are adequately stocked and properly utilized

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) / Registered Midwife (RM) with a valid license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification; Master's Degree is preferred
