Geoscience - Operations / Wellsite Geologist III at Nautilus Nigeria Engineering and Construction Limited

About the Role

A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent. As a Wellsite Geologist III, you will interpret and integrate geological data while providing comprehensive well-site geological support for drilling operations in oil fields. You will deliver optimized horizontal well bore placement, final well reports, updated horizontal well cross-sections, maps, and formation evaluation logs for recent and previously drilled wells. Additionally, you will provide geological support for interdisciplinary reservoir studies and field development plans, while developing and mentoring less experienced staff.

Primary Responsibilities

You will supervise all well site geological personnel and operations, including mudlogging, Logging While Drilling (LWD), Wireline services, and core handling/processing. You will ensure quality assurance of all geological data acquisition and reporting.

Wellsite Geological Services

• Conduct geological monitoring
• Monitor and supervise wireline and LWD logging operations
• Monitor coring operations
• Monitor and supervise mudlogging operations
• Manage reporting responsibilities
• Audit geological services when appropriate

Well Completion Report Management

• Compile and distribute well completion reports

Wellsite Geological Coordination

• Coordinate, monitor, and administer Company-operated wellsite geotechnical activities
• Conduct pre-drill planning
• Serve as point of contact for third-party geological services vendors
• Monitor and coordinate wellsite geologic data acquisition and analysis activities
• Disseminate information to stakeholders and participate in regular teleconferences and meetings
• Review and verify invoices for geological services
• Coordinate post-drill sample, log, and report shipments
• Complete special and ad-hoc projects as assigned

Abnormal Pressure Surveillance

• Monitor all abnormal pressure parameters
• Ensure parameters are captured on pressure evaluation logs
• Review findings with Company Operations personnel
