Field Operator I at Nautilus Nigeria Engineering and Construction Limited

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Field Operator I to join Nautilus Nigeria Engineering and Construction Limited in Lagos. In this position, you will operate equipment and wells by applying operating and safety procedures and guidelines to meet daily operational plans, reduce equipment failure, and ensure efficient resource administration.

Main Responsibilities

• Implement daily work objectives while maintaining housekeeping, safety, health, environmental, and security standards
• Actively participate in daily toolbox meetings and regular safety meetings with documented attendance
• Monitor wells and equipment continuously to identify and implement corrective and optimization actions, ensuring reliable, efficient, and safe operational conditions
• Function as an Equipment Care Technician, performing routine maintenance activities and basic equipment servicing
• Report immediately when alarm, emergency, or emergency shutdown systems are out of service
• Provide detailed, clear, and accurate shift handover information to guarantee unit conditions are current and ensure operations continuity
• Coordinate, control, and monitor maintenance jobs according to corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance planning
• Record all relevant operational events, abnormal situations, and deviations in the logbook
• Take product samples for laboratory analysis and execute field laboratory tests
• Actively participate in emergency response activities
• Report incidents internally and escalate awareness according to Incident Reporting Guidelines
• Keep the Operations Shift Supervisor informed and consulted on all operational activities
• Ensure clear communication across the work team to address issues and actions appropriately
• Provide accurate information on well production problems, current production rates, and well condition
• Ensure thorough and complete well problem diagnostics before requesting Well Work intervention operations
