English Language Teacher at LexTorah

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated English Language Teacher to join our organization in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will teach comprehensive English skills and prepare students for major international examinations.

Responsibilities

• Teach fundamental English skills including reading, writing, listening, and speaking
• Prepare students for international exams: IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, OET, SELT, CELPIP, PTE, GRE, and GMAT
• Compose detailed lesson plans that effectively utilize the full duration of each lesson
• Execute lessons efficiently using varied teaching styles appropriate to the content
• Engage students to create a lively and interactive classroom atmosphere
• Instruct students on the structure and content of the English language
• Emphasize rules of composition, grammar, and sentence construction
• Maintain accurate class records, attendance logs, and student progress reports

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in English and Education
• Minimum 5-6 years of experience in a teaching role
• Native English speaker
• Proficiency in composing lesson plans
• Familiarity with online teaching tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt teaching to different formats (online or in-person)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's of Arts in English Education
