About the Role
Millie's British International School (MBIS) is seeking experienced and committed Nursery Teachers to join our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading organization and make a meaningful impact on early childhood development.
Successful candidates will be responsible for supporting and extending the learning of children aged 3 to 5 years through high-quality teaching, play-based learning, and nurturing care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching using play-based learning approaches aligned with the British Early Years Curriculum
- Support emotional, social, and educational development of young learners
- Teach phonics, early mathematics, and literacy using developmentally appropriate strategies
- Support handwriting development in young learners
- Design and deliver lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse needs of learners
- Implement effective classroom management strategies
- Engage and motivate children through creative and innovative teaching methods
Essential Requirements
- Minimum academic qualification: B.Ed., B.A., B.Sc., HND, or PGDE in Early Childhood Education or English from a recognised institution
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in a similar role
- Demonstrable understanding of the British Early Years Curriculum
- Ability to teach phonics or willingness to be trained in phonics instruction
- Competence in teaching early mathematics and literacy
- Experience supporting handwriting development
- Creative teaching skills in music, dance, drama, and arts & crafts
- Excellent English language skills (written, spoken, and reading)
- Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, internet browsing)
- Strong classroom management and effective teaching skills
- Residence in Ibadan within reasonable commuting distance of Jericho, Ibadan
